In response, the crowd chanted: “Send her back!” The relevant question is not whether Trump is a racist. Of course he is. Or whether he’s going to continue bashing these members of Congress, who fill all his demonization boxes: Democrats, women, people of color, a Muslim....

The shooting occurred at a residence in the 2000 block of Bancroft Street in Columbus shortly before 11.30 a.m. on Monday. The Columbus Division of Police said officers arrived at the scene to find the boy’s parents leaving with residence with him. The boy’s parents told police that the infant had gotten hold of a gun in the residence and accidentally shot himself. The child was taken to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in a critical condition....

The incident occurred at approximately 1 a.m. this morning on Brainard Circle, in close vicinity to the local fire station and city hall, Fox 8 reported. Officials from the gas company linked to the site arrived at the scene within half an hour, cutting the supply at around 3:30 a.m. According to WOIO, the blaze could be seen from miles away and flames reached 50 feet into the air. Beginning Thursday, Ohio residents will be subject to curfew between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., with retail businesses remaining closed during the same hours. Butler County resident Victor Smith received his first dose of the Moderna vaccine on January 22, but afterwards he began to feel tired—a known temporary side effect of the shot—and fell, WLWT reported. Smith, an amputee, was taken to Fort Hamilton Hospital before being transferred to a rehab facility in Hamilton several days later. Smith was scheduled to receive his second shot on February 25 at the Butler County Fairgrounds, so on the day staff transported him to the vaccination provider....

Officers were responding to a non-emergency call from a neighbor at around 1.37 a.m. The neighbor reported a disturbance on the 1000 block of Oberlin Drive, saying a man was sitting in an SUV turning the engine on and off for an extended period of time, Columbus Police said in a statement. On arrival the officers spotted a man in an open garage. The officer who fired the fatal shot had not turned on his body-worn camera but a “look back” function meant it was rolling for 60 seconds without audio during the incident....

Ohio State coach Ryan Day on Monday announced Justin Fields will lead the team’s offense under center this season. “We’ve decided to name Justin the starter for the first game against Florida Atlantic,” Day said at a news conference. Fields, a sophomore, has never started a college game but saw action as a freshman at Georgia last fall behind starter Jake Fromm.
