Officers responded to a call of a man causing a disturbance inside the Ralphs grocery store, near the intersection of Balboa Boulevard and Devonshire Street in the Granada Hills neighborhood, at around 6.30 p.m., the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) said. Officers were responding when they learned the suspect was armed with a gun, police said. Cellphone video footage captured by a witness at the scene showed the shirtless suspect standing on top of shelves at the store yelling at people....

Luis Angel Varela, 21, of Santa Rosa was pulled over by a police sergeant in the early hours on Sunday after he was caught doing “donuts” in his car, CBS News reported. A subsequent search of his car yielded a 9mm polymer ghost gun, capable of fully automatic fire, and with a high-capacity magazine capable of holding 30 rounds. Officer Anthony Dia was shot in the chest and killed by an unknown suspect at a Home Depot parking lot on the 1000 block of Alexis Road this morning. He was out on patrol in West Toledo when he responded to a 911 call of an intoxicated person shortly after midnight on Friday. The call to Ohio dispatch alerted authorities to an intoxicated suspect walking around the Depot’s parking lot....

Shanika Bogan, 31, was killed last week in her apartment.
