Ohio State’s athletic department released a statement saying that while Miller’s Instagram post was a violation, it was minor and would not result in any harm to his eligibility.

The school’s compliance department tweeted a reminder earlier Thursday that seemed to be hinting at the conversation surrounding Miller’s post on social media.
It’s a good move by Ohio State to remind its student-athletes that any kind of social post associated with a brand can be construed as endorsement, especially since there is a fine line.
Miller is a distributor for AdvoCare, which is legal under NCAA rules. Student-athletes are allowed to have jobs, but are not allowed to use their position as a student-athlete to promote or endorse products.
