“Somebody said I couldn’t cook?” Apple asked. “He’s never had anything I’ve cooked, then. That is completely false. I was one of the best cooks on the team. I used to make breakfast all the time.”

Apple’s dad was a five-star chef, and Apple said he “learned from him.” Apple’s mother tweeted her response to a Milwaukee Journal Sentinel report that quoted an anonymous scout saying Apple “has no life skills at all. Can’t cook. Just a baby.”

Running back Ezekiel Elliott, a potential top 10 pick and a teammate of Apple’s in Columbus, seemed satisfied with Apple’s cooking as well.

As far as football goes, Apple (6-1, 199 pounds) is confident he can handle the NFL’s pass-heavy offenses.

“It’s great, man, that’s what you ask for from the DBs, being able to cover," he told Omnisport. “And that’s something I can do, something I’m looking forward to doing. I feel comfortable just being on the field, strapping on my helmet, putting on my jersey and just playing football.”

Apple, whom SN ranks as the No. 2 cornerback in the draft, is expected to be a mid-first to early-second-round pick.
