America’s flag-waving mania is causing problems. The public library in Boulder, Colorado, recently chose not to fly the flag above its doorway, and protests poured in. The library eventually caved, but a new art exhibit brought the furor back to the fore when 21 brightly colored ceramic phalluses were hung on display. Bob Rowan, so disgusted that the flag had been a tough choice but phallic art had not, stole the exhibit, leaving a note from “El Dildo Bandito.” He was caught, and could face a jail term and a fine.
