Inside Ole Miss Sports reported coach Hugh Freeze cleared Nkemdiche to play Wednesday. The decision comes days before Ole Miss travels to Auburn for an SEC West clash Saturday, a must-win game if the Rebels hope to contend for an SEC title.

Nkemdiche was effectively out for 1 1/2 games after suffering what appeared to be a serious concussion in the first half against Memphis on Oct. 17. The Tigers won that game 37-24, giving Ole Miss its second loss of the season. He sat out Ole Miss’s victory over Texas A&M last weekend.

Nkemdiche has 5.5 tackles for loss this season, even with reduced playing time.
