One target of Wright’s counteroffensive is a private eye named Larry Case. Case says he’s being paid $540,000 by the tabloids to dig for dirt on Clinton. He claims to have a tape of a woman admitting an affair with the governor. The woman, who suffers from multiple-personality disorder, swears Case tricked her into saying she had sex with Clinton in a Little Rock hotel. She now says she’s never been to Little Rock. She’s turned down $125,000 from the tabloids for her story.
