Bryan, 23, died Tuesday after being shot in the head with a pistol in Macon, Ga. He was found in the driver’s seat of a Monte Carlo in a parking space at a convenience store.

Miller was also shot and critically wounded, possibly by the at-large suspect. He was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the chest or neck and listed in stable condition, investigators said.

The 4 p.m. shooting was caught by security cameras and shows the other suspect fleeing the scene in a 2012 Nissan Sentra.

A sheriff’s spokesman told The Telegraph that deputies found a “suspicious substance” in a bottle on the ground outside the passenger door of Bryan’s two-door Monte Carlo. They found “a wad” of cash outside the driver’s door. The substance was being tested at a crime lab to find out what it is.

Bryan, a Savannah native, played one minute in Mercer’s 85-70 win over Samford on Monday night. The sixth-year senior was averaging 3.2 points in six games this season after starting all 35 games last season. 

A vigil was held for Bryan at Mercer’s Hawkins Arena on Wednesday evening. The Bears are scheduled to return to action Saturday at home against the Citadel.
