Packers Fill A Need With Arizona State Safety Damarious Randall

White went seventh overall to the Bears while the Packers, who lost to the Seahawks in last year’s NFC championship game, picked 30th.

Randall is a safety with excellent cover and ball skills, but he’s not the best tackler. It’s the second straight year the team has selected a safety, picking Alabama’s Ha Ha Clinton-Dix with the 21st pick in 2014. 

Randall is only 5-11, 196, but is extremely athletic and has a nose for the ball with 106 tackles last season. He also had three interceptions each of the last two seasons. He also has added value as a punt returner. He gained a lot of late buzz, surpassing Alabama’s Landon Collins as the draft’s top safety.
