Both Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers are on the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook’s props board, but it’s the latter that we’ll focus on.

Rodgers is listed with an OVER/UNDER 280.5 gross passing yards. Rodgers has only eclipsed that number in two of seven games this year, against the Jets (346) and at the Bears (302). A couple of tough matchups and blowouts can shoulder much of the blame, but the matchup this Sunday appears to be a promising one for OVER bettors.

The Saints are one of the league’s top offensive units, averaging 25.8 points per game – 28.5 at home, where they typically have more scoring success. This suggests a high-scoring affair with the Packers, who average the fourth most points in the league (28.4) despite being held to 16 by the Seahawks and seven by the Lions.

The Seattle and Detroit matchups, like Sunday’s, were on the road, but the Saints’ defense isn’t on the same level as those two clubs, as they allow 270.5 passing yards per game. In two matchups against the Saints since 2011, Rodgers has averaged 315.5 passing yards, going OVER 280.5 in each. While this is a different team from the ones Rodgers shredded in 2011 and 2012, statistically, it is just as mediocre as those editions.
