According to ESPN.com, Rockets coach Kevin McHale told reporters on Wednesday that Beverley has torn ligaments in his left wrist. The Houston point guard will be re-evaluated in seven to 10 days, and season-ending surgery may be needed.

Beverley left Monday’s game against the Pacers and traveled back to Houston on Tuesday to undergo tests on the wrist injury, which was originally ruled a sprain.

“If the news is bad on Pat, he might be out a while,” McHale said Tuesday, per the Houston Chronicle. “We will find out the news on Pat, but the initial thought was that it might be bad."

The defensive-minded Beverley is averaging 10.1 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.4 assists for the Rockets (47-23), who are third in the Western Conference.

Jason Terry and Pablo Prigioni are expected to share minutes in Beverley’s absence.
