When Kaminsky was selected in the NBA Draft, it came with a lot of criticism. Experts predicted he’d land closer to the teens of the draft rather than the top 10. Charlotte also reportedly turned down a lucrative trade from the Celtics, who were interested in drafting Justise Winslow.
Obviously Kaminsky has a long time to shake off some of this supposed rust. It’s the team’s first practice of the year and he’s still getting comfortable adapting to the NBA. But Hornets fans are already concerned about their new rookie, and this quote won’t help.
