The Sharks’ franchise leader in goals (510), points (1,085) and games played (1,495) signed a one-year, $700,000 contract with the club on Tuesday. He returns as the third-oldest active player in the NHL behind Boston Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara and Sharks teammate Joe Thornton.
After starting 0-4-0 this season, the Sharks have won both games since signing Marleau, who already has two goals and an assist. Their next contest will be against the Carolina Hurricanes at the SAP Center on Wednesday (10:30 p.m. ET).
