New England released wide receiver Brandon LaFell and tight end Scott Chandler, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported.

LaFell, 29, caught 37 passes for 515 yards during the 2015 season. For his career, the former Panthers third-round pick has caught 278 passes for 3,853 yards and 20 touchdowns.

The team’s top three receivers are now Danny Amendola, Julian Edelman and Keshawn Martin.

Chandler, 30, caught 23 passes for 259 yards and four touchdowns last season, his only year with the Patriots after starring with the Bills from 2010-2014. 

Other than Rob Gronkowski, the only other tight ends on the Patriots’ roster are second-year player A.J. Derby and former fourth-stringer Michael Williams.
