Sure enough, both linebacker Jerod Mayo and running back Stevan Ridley are out for the season, according to multiple reports.

Mayo was taken off the field on a cart midway through the second quarter. Ridley was hurt late in the third.
The injury to Mayo, a captain and the Patriots’ leading tackler, is the bigger hit. Among qualifing inside linebackers, Mayo had the NFL’s sixth-highest Pro Football Focus run stop percentage, and he had the fifth-best pass rush productivity rating.
Ridley had been receiving the majority of carries, but the Patriots have Shane Vereen, Brandon Bolden and James White available to fill the running back void.
