ESPN’s Mike Reiss reports McCourty’s contract includes a hefty $28.5 million in guaranteed money.
The Jaguars, Giants and Eagles all made a “hard push” to lure McCourty away, but the 28-year-old reportedly took less money to remain in New England.
A 2010 Pro Bowler, McCourty has eight interceptions and five forced fumbles over the past three seasons.
Darrelle Revis is due a $12 million option bonus Monday from the Patriots, but the McCourty signing puts his status in serious question.
