Speaking about his time with the Nets, Pierce remarked that he and Kevin Garnett had to be the leaders of a team when they thought they were there to supplement.
Pierce offered to stay in Brooklyn with Garnett, even though he didn’t enjoy being on the team.
Before I got there, I looked at Deron as an MVP candidate,’’ Pierce said. “But I felt once we got there, that’s not what he wanted to be. He just didn’t want that.”
And although they won a championship together in Boston, Pierce said that Ray Allen was always kind of distant from Garnett and backcourt mate Rajon Rondo.
The entire piece is worth checking out for the information. Pierce apparently spends a lot of his time stretching and in a hyperbaric chamber these days, so there’s that to look forward to.
