For years, PC gamers have had to deal with less-than-satisfactory “unoptimized” ports for years, but with Cyberpunk 2077, it appears that the PC actually received a better version of the game, and Xbox One and PlayStation 4 gamers are furious. A few people have shared side-by-side comparisons to emphasize the better graphics of the PC version against those last-gen consoles. Other people has also been complaining about glitches in the last-gen versions, and the game just flat-out crashing.

In an update on Monday, the game developers at CD Projekt Red apologized to console gamers for “not showing the game on base last-gen consoles before it premiered.” The studio also promised updates frequently, as well as two patches in January and February, respectively, to improve the gameplay experience. The content of patches will come ahead of their respective releases. “They won’t make the game on last-gen look like it’s running on a high-spec PC or next-gen console, but it will be closer to that experience than it is now,” CD Projekt Red said in the statement.

The developers also said that refunds would be made available for people who don’t want to wait for updates. That hasn’t exactly panned out well for PlayStation users so far, though.

While updates and patches may eventually make the gameplay better for console gamers, word of those upcoming fixes has not discouraged PC players from rubbing it in that, for now, they have the better game experience.

Many of the memes going around just troll console gamers for not being accustomed to a bad port. Some PC gamers said they couldn’t care less about console gamers having a crumby experience, because they’re far too busy just enjoying their bug-free version of Cyberpunk 2077.

One meme, using a screengrab from Back to the Future Part II, emphasized that console gamers won’t be able to enjoy the game “unless you got power.” Others used popular meme formats to highlight the console version’s various shortcomings.

Some PC players simply boasted about how good their game looks, obviously casting a little bit of shade in the direction of console players. “Beautiful game on PC,” one redditor wrote, sharing a screengrab of a crystal-clear Johnny Silverhand.

Despite Cyberpunk 2077 giving PC gamers their moment in the sun, a few older-generation console owners simply lamented the fact that they can’t even play the new game, glitchy or not.
