Pedro Martinez Keeps David Ortiz Comeback Rumor Mill Churning With Tweet

Ortiz was in New York on Monday taking part in a Red Sox-Yankees charity bowling event, around the time Martinez teased the baseball world with another “Hey, maybe Papi will come back” tweet.

Now, unless Ortiz is playing in a super-secret rec league in Boston, or getting unrecorded at-bats in Fort Myers or Santo Domingo, there’s little chance he’s in tip-top “baseball shape.” Still, Pedro insists Ortiz is in good physical condition. And hey, since the Sox need a hitter (surprisingly, they do) . . .

Ortiz has done some teasing himself the past few months by posting workout selfies. Points to Martinez for keeping up the suspense this time.
