Pelicans Ryan Anderson Out 2 4 Weeks With Mcl Sprain

Anderson’s injury took place during the second quarter of Saturday’s game against the Heat in which his teammate, Anthony Davis, was also injured.

Davis also underwent a MRI Sunday and is expected to miss 1-2 weeks  with a right shoulder sprain, leaving the Pelicans shorthanded for the near future.

With a 28-27 record, the Pelicans are just two games out of the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference and will have to rely on Alexis Ajinca and Dante Cunningham in the frontcourt. Earlier Sunday , the team waived trade-deadline acquisition Shawne Williams.

Anderson is averaging 8.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.1 3-pointers per game.
