When talking to the media Tuesday, multiple Penn State football players said they buried a DVD of the game in the practice field. Like, with a shovel. Safety Jordan Lucas spoke about the team bonding moment first.

“We all decided to do it,” he said. “Hack brought it to my attention and we called the team up.”

Lucas is referring to Penn State quarterback Christian Hackenberg, who was sacked 10 times in the game against Temple. He added that putting the game film in a hole underground gave the team “positive energy.”

The Nittany Lions finished the game with 180 yards on offense, converted just 2-of-13 third-down attempts, finished with 2.9 yards per pass and 2.9 yards per carry. It was an ugly performance, and coach James Franklin supports his team putting it in the ground.

“I’m in support of whatever they need to do to feel great and move on,” he said.

According to Lucas and DaeSean Hamilton, multiple players also stepped on the footage while it was being buried. Hamilton added, “It was just so we put everything behind us.”
