A senior judge on Wednesday ruled in favor of McQueary on the last pending count in the case and awarded $4.97 million in additional damages to be paid by the school, bringing the total award in the case to nearly $12 million.

McQueary was awarded $7.3 million in the October suit, which alleged Penn State officials treated him unfairly after it became known he was a witness in the Sandusky trial. The school petitioned Judge Thomas Gavin to overturn the ruling, but he ruled in favor of McQueary.
Penn State has paid out more than $93 million in settlements connected to Sandusky’s 32 accusers.
Sandusky is serving a 30- to 60-year prison sentence for the sexual abuse of 10 minors.
